Hallelujah . . . What Does It Mean?

Hallelujah means, Praise Jah. This is a shortened form of the Name Jehovah. The first letter and the last two letters of the name Jehovah forms a contraction, Jah. Every time you say hallelujah you are saying praise Jehovah.

King James Version

Psalm 68:4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name; extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

Psalm 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Matthew 24:14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

What will end? The Earth Will Remain Forever!

Psalm 37:9 For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Ecclesiastes 1:4 A generation is going, and a generation is coming; but the earth is standing even to time indefinite.

Psalm 104:5 He has founded the earth upon its established places; It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever
